Meerut (UP): Angry over his daughter not snapping ties with her lover despite repeated requests, a man gave a contract to a ward boy of a hospital who injected a high dose of potassium chloride leading to a sudden deterioration of her health, police said on Saturday.
The woman's father Naveen Kumar, ward boy Naresh Kumar and a female employee of the hospital were arrested on Saturday, they said.
Naveen Kumar had admitted his daughter to a hospital in Kankarkheda late on Friday night but a few hours later he shifted her to Future Plus Hospital in Modipuram where the girl's health suddenly deteriorated in the night, a police official said.
On examination, doctors found that she was injected with a high dose of potassium chloride. Upon scanning CCTV footage, the person who gave the injection was identified as Naresh Kumar and taken into custody, the police official said.
During interrogation, Naresh Kumar told the police that the woman's father had given him Rs 1 lakh to kill her. Posing as a doctor, he entered the ICU with the help of the female employee and administered the injection, the police said.
Based on the information, the woman employee and the victim's father, who is said to be a property dealer, were taken into custody and all three of them were arrested.
Naveen Kumar later told the police that his daughter was having an affair with a man and was not agreeing to snap ties even after requests.
While admitting the girl to the hospital he had told the doctors that she got scared of monkeys on the roof and fell from there. But actually, she had jumped off the roof, the accused father told the police.
The police have also recovered a broken injection containing some medicine potassium chloride and Rs 90,000 from Naresh Kumar.
