New Delhi: Safety concerns in luxury cars have resurfaced once again as Rishabh Pant’s Mercedes caught fire after an accident on Friday morning near Roorkee.
Pant was driving a Mercedes car bearing registration number DL10CN 1717 to his home from Delhi and hit the divider on the Delhi Narson border of Roorkee. The star cricketer suffered multiple injuries while his car burnt into flames after the accident.
Similar concerns were raised when Mercedes-Benz GLC met with a fatal accident in Palghar of Maharashtra causing the death of Cyrus Mistry and his co-passenger sitting in the rear seat earlier this year in September.
Mistry and his co-passenger in the rear seat were not wearing seat belts and lost their lives due to the impact of the collision.
In the case of Pant, he was driving the car and his life was saved because of the seat belt.
However, the reason behind the fire in the car is not yet known.
Mercedes Benz is yet to respond to the query sent by NewsDrum for their comment on the possible reasons behind the fire.
