Bhopal: To develop regions associated with Lord Ram during his exile, the Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday decided to constitute a ‘Ramchandra Pathgaman Nyas (Trust)’ with 33 members.
The decision to constitute the trust was taken by the state cabinet at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, an official said.
Of its 33 members, the trust will have 28 ex-officio trustees and five non-official trustees. The maximum tenure of the non-official trustees will be 3 years.
Expert committees can be constituted from time to time to conduct the activities of the trust, the official said.
The culture department will be the competent authority for making institutional arrangements for the trust. A project management unit will also be constituted for its smooth functioning, the official said.
Besides, the cabinet also gave its nod for 150 more MBBS seats in the Government Medical College, Sagar, taking the total number of MBBS seats to 250 in the institution. The government has given an administrative sanction of Rs 200.31 crore for the purpose, the official said.
The cabinet has also decided to include Datia airstrip under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik) scheme. In the first phase of the project, flights from Datia to Bhopal and Datia to Khajuraho would be started, the official added.
The government decided to create the Malhargarh subdivision in the Mandsaur district and Jaisinagar subdivision in Sagar district and a new tehsil Doraha in Sehore district, the official added.
