Important cases heard in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday, November 22:

*Terming it a 'publicity interest litigation', HC dismissed with costs a PIL seeking directions that the Shraddha Walkar murder investigation be transferred from Delhi Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

  * HC sought the stand of the lieutenant governor on the Delhi government think tank DDCD's vice chairman Jasmine Shah's challenge to the order restraining him from discharging his duties and sealing his office.

* HC dismissed a plea by Future Coupons Private Ltd (FCPL) seeking termination of arbitral proceedings initiated by US-based e-commerce giant Amazon before the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

* HC rejected a petition challenging a CIC decision refusing to impose penalty on an official for belatedly providing information on an RTI application seeking certain details in relation to the auction of a suit worn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling the plea "misconceived".

  *HC dismissed a challenge to a National Medical Commission regulation prescribing a maximum of four attempts for a medical student to clear the first year of the MBBS course.

*In an endeavour to re-unite a three-year-old child, who was allegedly illegally brought to India by his father, with his Ukrainian mother and sister, HC asked the family to spend some time together so the boy  could bond with them.

* Banking system is the backbone of Indian economy and a bank officer who is found to have been involved in financial irregularities while performing his duty cannot be let off, the HC said while upholding an order of dismissal of a bank official from service. PTI ADS SKV SK SK
