New Delhi: Days after disqualified MP Rahul Gandhi questioned the silence of foreign countries over his assumption that democracy completely died in India alleging an attack on institutions including media, his party was caught silencing media.
Rattled by Gandhi’s conviction by a Surat court followed by his disqualification from Lok Sabha, Congress Saturday indulged in name-calling and threatened Aaj Tak’s Sudhir Chaudhary with legal action.
Indian Youth Congress National President Srinivas BV in a quote tweet in Hindi containing a video from Aaj Tak said, “Sudhir Chaudhari, who has spent considerable time in Tihar jail for defaming the profession of journalism, get ready for a legal action for the low standard journalism and fabricated charges defaming our leaders.”
Srinivas tagged India Today Group Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Aroon Purie and the legal cell of the Indian Youth Congress in his tweet.
@aroonpurie @IYCLegalCell https://t.co/1jBIc6ph5L

In the video tweeted by Aaj Tak, Chaudhary questioned if the severity of Rahul Gandhi’s crime will reduce by referring to other crimes.
Chaudhary responded to Srinivas using Gandhi’s tweet after disqualification.
https://t.co/y0WobmvK4e
