Narayanpur: An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) sub-inspector allegedly committed suicide at the paramilitary force's camp in Chhattisgarh's Naxalite-hit Narayanpur district on Thursday, an official said.
Sub Inspector Sachin Dhull (29), belonging to ITBP's 45th battalion, was found hanging from the ceiling of the office barracks in the camp located in Jail Badi area here, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar said.
"As per preliminary information, his colleagues did not find him in his room this morning and mounted a search. They found him hanging inside the office later. The body had been sent for post mortem. A probe is on to find out why he took this step," he said.
The ITBP is deployed in Bastar division and Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh for anti-Maoist operations.
