Panaji: Actor Satish Kaushik was among the first few persons to travel on the New Zuari Bridge in Goa on Friday.
The bridge, a second on the Zuari river, was inaugurated on Thursday evening by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
It was opened for traffic at 1 pm on Friday.
Officials of Goa Police and Dilip Buildcon Limited which has constructed the bridge welcomed the first few travellers by handing them roses.
A taxi carrying tourists from Dabolim Airport was the first public vehicle to cross the bridge at 1 pm.
Bollywood actor Satish Kaushik was spotted in the taxi which followed.
The officials clicked pictures with Kaushik after offering him a rose and wishing him happy stay in the coastal state which is gearing up to host New Year celebrations.
The bridge, located around 15 km from Panaji, connects North and South districts of Goa. PTI RPS KRK KRK
