New Delhi: Bombay zone's R K Shishir has bagged the top rank in the IIT entrance exam JEE-Advanced, the results of which were announced on Sunday.
Shishir is from Karnataka and this is for the first time that a candidate from Karnataka has topped the IIT JEE exam.
Shishir, who is a student of Narayana eTechno School lives in Sahakar Nagar. His father works in Times of India and his mother is a homemaker.
Alongside the JEE Advanced 2022 exam, Shishir was also preparing for the KCET 2022 exam and had topped KCET.
For the KCET 2022 exam, Shishir secured Rank 1 in Pharmacy and Rank 4 in the Engineering exam.
Shishir wishes to join IIT Bombay. For the JEE Advanced 2022 exam, he obtained a total of 314 marks out of 360 marks.
In order to prepare for the exam, he claimed his mantra to be to continuously prepare until he one gets the topic and you don’t have any backlog remaining, this will help in more time for preparation.
Tanishka Kabra from the Delhi zone is the topper among females with 277 marks. Her all-India rank is 16.
Over 1.5 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam and over 40,000 have qualified.
