27 Congress MLAs complain about ill-treatment by allies

Mumbai (Maharashtra): In a letter written to their interim president Sonia Gandhi, more than two dozen Congress legislators complained that ministers did not respond to their concerns. The MLAs urged Gandhi to intervene.

A section of Congress legislators feels that cabinet ministers of the MVA government are ignoring them.

An MLA on condition of anonymity told that Congress is dragged behind Shiv Sena and National Congress Party (NCP). More funds are allocated to NCP and Sena ministers. "If things will go on like this then Congress in Maharashtra would end up like a marginal player like in other states."

Congress leader Vishwabandhu Rai said, "I have been constantly writing to party president about the damage Congress is facing due to conspiracy of the partners in the alliance."
He further said that appointments are being made to commissions, boards and committees in Maharashtra. But Congress leaders are not being appointed.

When contacted Congress State President Nana Patole said there is nothing wrong with meeting the party president. "They are our leaders and legislators want to meet them. What is wrong with that? BJP is deliberately spreading rumours about the stability of the MVA government. But they will not be able to topple our government."

Meanwhile, Patole has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackery on the implementation of the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) finalised during the formation of the government. In his letter, he mentioned that it appears that Common Minimum Programme has not been implemented so far considering Covid-19 challenges. Now things are normalised and we think that it should be implemented on a priority basis."
