New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has been claiming to have opened ‘mohabbat ki dukaan’ in ‘nafrat ke bazaar’ and has been called a 'tapasvi' by his party leaders, has shown his real face of hatred against RSS ideology.
Speaking to the reporters, Gandhi said, “I can never go to an RSS office. You can slit my throat, but I will not go. My family has an ideology, it has a thought system."
It must also be remembered that the Congress leader, who also claims that he has completely changed his persona by killing his old self owing to the Bharat Jodo yatra, had once hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament.
Gandhi had then claimed that his hug was in response to the hatred thrown against him.
Last month, he visited the memorial of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee - ‘Sadaiv Atal’ - to show that he has a deep respect for leaders from all schools of thought, including political and ideological opponents, and that his vision is to work with all to unite the Indians.
Vajpayee was a BJP stalwart and RSS ideologue for over five decades.
However, with the ‘beheading’ comment, it is not clear which way Gandhi transformed himself.
“Earlier he hugged PM Modi who follows RSS ideology. Has he taken the resolve that he will not repeat such a mistake? Was he confused earlier and now got clarity over what path he has to choose? How can an aspirant for the PM post have such a hatred against an ideology?” asked a BJP leader.
At a press conference during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Hoshiarpur of Punjab, Gandhi was answering a question regarding the future of his cousin Varun Gandhi in Congress.

“Varun Gandhi is in BJP. If he walks here then it might be a problem for him. My ideology doesn't match his ideology. I cannot go to the RSS office. I'll have to be beheaded before that. My family has an ideology. Varun adopted another and I can't accept that ideology,” Gandhi said.
